In recent months, 12,000 British Columbians have sent emails to the premier to demand habitat protection for these endangered herd of rare Mtn Caribou in BCs interior.
Will the government be democratic and listen to these demands, or continue their cozy relationship with the logging industry and allow those areas of crucial Caribou habitat to be logged?
I would bet they choose to sacrfice the caribou .
They will be talking about it in back rooms, using good old boy sayings and rhetoric like: "there isn't many of them stupid caribou left anyways" ; "the strong survive, the weak die out, thats the way life is".
And so on. The kind of thinking that leaves cockroaches and viruses as the only natural things left on planet earth. The kind of thinking that says "God GAVE us nature to use for our own good, and it would be a sin to not use this gift from god, so log the ****ing hell out of that damn forest and go to church on sundays".
Ya, ok, how did they get into power again? because YOU voted for them? - Ok, I want outta here. This is not the morality I taught my kids. Good people have been protesting this destruction for decades now, and it is only getting worse. It is a crime and a sin and a loss of something real and valuable to eradicate the Mountain Caribou of BC. This is OUR government doing this....
