When I decorated my basement with old sports memorabilia, a buddy of mine (who is a Habs fan) asked me why I had no Montreal stuff. I told him I didn't want to cheapen the place.

To make him happy, I hung an autographed pic of Cornoyer from the 72 series

On this day in 2002, Canadiens captain Saku Koivu plays for the first time since being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma just 7 months earlier. His return inspires the Habs to a 4-3 win over the Sens that clinches their 1st playoff berth since 1998.

Vividly remember this night. Brought tears to my eyes.

Andrei Markov, longtime Canadiens defenceman, retires from pro hockey. The 41-year-old played in 990 games over 16 NHL seasons with Montreal.

One of the best defencemen they ever had.
