Its now late in the game in san jose, and its tied at 2, with los angeles playing very well, they
have williams back for this game, which give l.a. more scoring punch.

i'm so excited about the habs win, they played great, and price was awsome.

good for buffalo, I was cheering for them.

My son got one of the chairs from the old Forum and I as a Habs fan I sat in that old seat and

They played alright, Boston played horrible.....it took playing for Toronto for Kaberle to look good as a player......he sucked last night.:lol:

Problem is, the goons will come out Saturday.

What's even better, the Flyers lost......take that, ya dirty rats.

Alright, was about the way I thought they played too, Avro - just enough to ensure the win. I was really happy to see that they were disciplined for the most part and their penalty killing is still spot on but they have to come out with way more energy for their next game. Would like to see them score early and often then just fend off the Bruins and support Carey.

The only time I watch the CBC is for the games, otherwise I can get all the socialist agenda stuff by listening to Jack. :lol:

Gomez was good in the playoffs last year and was good when he won the Cup in NJ.

During the regular season he is an albatros.

Funny thing is, in my draft pool this year the Canadiens were some the players to go last, I got all of the important ones except Gionta and Gomez.....DOH!

I'm sure Boston fans will be saying that the late scratch to the line-up of Chara, was a mitigating factor in their loss to the Habs last night and it may well have played a part for both teams - energizing the Habs and take the wind out of the Bruins but these are the play-offs and the Habs came to play and stayed to win.

After scoring two goals early in the first period, the Habs held on to score one more in late in the second then switched into defensive mode and held the Bruins back from scoring. The third period was just about all Habs as they kept getting the puck and clearing it out of their zone, time and time again. They just wore the Bruins out and will come back home leading the series 2 - 0.

I should say 1 1/2 players), then where is their depth and where is their heart.

Canucks have played almost all season without quality players on their team, for the first time
just before playoffs they had their top 6 defencemen on the ice, but they always found a way to
ice a team that fought tooth and nail for the win, and looked like they had earned it.

Was Boston just sulking because they didn't have chara, and will wait to play hard after he comes
back, maybe, but than doesn't make them look like they deserve to win a championship.

I thought Detroit would suffer without zetterberg too, but they have risen to the occasion, and
are playing great, and sometimes it does take a situation like that to bring the rest of the players
together 'more', to make up for the loss, and it sure is working for the red wings.

You are so right, tallola - I thought Boston would come out and play their best for their Captain but they really let him down. Boston fans - supporters might be a better word here - started leaving before the 3rd was even over - those who stuck around seemed to do so in order to boo their team which they did.

But I won't take anything away from the Habs, they played well over the three periods and managed three goals against Thomas - who really didn't look good at times last night.

Just about midway through the Caps vs Rangers and still no score.

How disappointing was that game! If Chara made a difference by not playing the Bruin's last game in Boston, he made an even bigger difference in their game last night at the Bell Center. It seemed as if the very presence on the ice of their Captain inspired the Bruins and they responded. Chara spent over 26 minutes on the ice and though he didn't score a goal he was in on at least one assist - if I remember correctly - and he made some good hits on the Habs.

The Habs tried to fight back a few times in the game and had some great scoring opportunities but Tim Thomas was pretty solid in goal and limited them to two. The empty net goal was the final slap in the face for the Habs.

The Canadiens had the opportunity to go ahead by 3 and blew it. Sure hope they come up with a better strategy for their next meeting with the Bruins.

Montreal played terribly in the first 2 periods - flubbing passes, bobbling the puck, it was horrible.

I liked the way they introduced the US national anthem, though.

the same thing. In practice that morning the team was not focused, too much fooling around, and

the coach told them they were not ready to play, and price said the same, and obviously that was

the case, they came on the ice without being focused on the task at hand.

I have little use or respect for Don Cherry, but he did make a point - the team was 'at home', with all that means. Of course, to Cherry, it means being nagged by 'the wife' to 'do stuff with the kids', but I think there was a point to what he was trying to say. Unfocussed.

for sure, now they will be focussed, took a loss and a poor start to show them, big price to pay.
