That makes him a criminal not a terrorist.

After the horrific tragedy at the Boston Marathon, I am now wondering if Law Enforcement has a new tactic so to gain the support of the public by using political manipulation?

Terrorism vs Crime....

When I heard that the suspect in the BM bombing wasnt going to be miranda-ized, I wondered why law enforcement did a media campaign telling the public that they were not going to mirandize him. (Law enforecement is not obligated to share any detail of an ongoing investigation) so it immediatley became apparent to me that this would be in law enforcements favor...it was plausible to believe that if we were told they were goiing to have this "off the record" talk, that the media would be told a little bit about this hospital interview...and thats exactly what happened.

here's the problem that I see .....

It would be assumed by the public that the suspect in question did in fact converse with law enforcement, and did so without any lawyer or witness...this is where the oppurtunity to put words into the suspect's mouth would occur.

As soon as they would complete their "interview" (whether the suspect spoke one word or not..lets face it ..the public would never know one way or the other) LE could come out and give us a carrot (through the media) by telling us anything they wanted too..(so to continue winning over the public in reinforcing that they had the right person, that he was guilty, and that they had it all figured out from the get go)

And this is exactly the outcome that happened.

Law enforcement then did another media campaign and told the public that the BM bombing was NOT a terrorist attack.

By making that statement, obviously has to imply to the public, that the suspect confessed to the crime and admitted to law enforcement that he did in fact do the bombing, as well as explained their motive (terrorism vs crime) and many us like sheep believe everything we hear, and now believe that the suspect admitted guilt.

By citing "terrorism" apparently gives law enforcement a huge tool because not having to miranda-ize allows law enforcement the paved way, to share with the media, any words on behalf of the unmiranda-ized person ..

I guess we may see more "suspected terrorism plots" cited as a motive where cracking and resoving crimes could become easier.. (getting confessions through unmiranda-ized interviews) .. where LE will keep reinforcing that they always get the right guy, and they are on top of things, they got the confession, and continue giving society a sense of security at the expense of potentially innocent people...respectfully, I do appreciate that law enforcement takes on a tough job which they put their lives in harms way for the good of society..

Well, what's the big sh1t? I was just commenting, that's all. Shee-it.

Context is everything. While I can appreciate your political position, though I don't share it, I didn't see what the point of dragging your politics was into this thread. But it's your baggage not mine.
