"Science" is a methodology of examining evidence in a specific manner. It is not "discovery".

You know not of what you write ...yet again.

So discovering what we now call the Archimedes effect was not science?

According to the Oxford English Dictionary:

Science: The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

Which is what Mr Archimedes did.
