With Tory knowing the Liberal's plans going forward, I suppose the mayor wants to check in with Brown. He must feel the PCs will form the next government.

Mayor Tory, PC Leader Brown to talk transit

Antonella Artuso

Toronto Mayor John Tory and Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown are expected to talk transit when they meet Friday morning.

It will be the first formal face-to-face since Brown unwrapped the People’s Guarantee, an election platform that commits to $5.2 billion in new subway spending in the Greater Toronto Area.

With the city’s agreement to upload the assets to the provincial level, that funding can be amortized over 30 to 40 years, allowing for the funding of multiple subway projects, the People’s Guarantee says.

Some of that money would be used to cover the cost of maintenance and infrastructure of subway tracks, tunnels and stations.
The PCs say the TTC would continue to run the subways and keep all the proceeds from the fare box.

The City of Toronto could take $1 billion of the promised funding to pay its portion of the Scarborough subway, provided it is willing to build out the Eglinton Crosstown LRT to at least the University of Toronto Scarborough campus, the election platform says.

The Tories say they will also cover the current $200-million escalator in funding for the Scarborough subway, again in exchange for extending the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

The rest here.
