I don't have a favorite thread for this year but do have a favorite post:

This is from Blackleaf's thread on how Iranian children are supposedly being taught to hate the West. It is said to be a military training photo even though Shiia law expressly forbids the use of children in military (Sunni law does not expressly forbid it) and the supposed soldier in training has the weapon in the wrong hands!

This piece of right wing propaganda is so utterly laughable that I will never forget it as long as I live!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Training in the middle east is not exactly desperately required to encite hatred of the west is it? I mean just a stroll through any town or city in Iraq or Afghanistan through the rubble and destruction I should think would be more than adequate to result in hatred, I don't even live there and I hate the west.

Isn't it laughable how so many right wingers on this forum claim to be soldiers or former soldiers, but were not able to point out that the soldier in training had the weapons in the wrong hands?

Remember, Blackleaf said this was from a training manual. Just imagine how embarrassing it must be for teachers to have this mistake pointed out to them -- IF the picture was a real one. Obviously, it is not for real as soldiers would know where to properly position the trainees hands!!:lol::lol:

 Jeeeeeez. You guys don't consider possibilities? Maybe the kid was experimenting and tried swapping hands? Maybe the kid was just picking it up for the first time in his life?
A couple months ago I read an article in Macleans and there were pics in there of kids toting weaponry, too. Is EVERYONE lying? I started shooting when I was about 5. I am sure there must be a pic of me aiming a rifle somewhere in our archives. I saw similar pics in the Serb/Croat strife.

LOL!

I coached baseball for 20 years. If I wrote a training manual with a pic showing a kid batting crossed-handed and try to palm that off as the ideal way to bat, I would be the laughing stock of baseball!!!

a child with a grenade missile launcher? [is that what it is?] ...Surely, this CANNOT be a mistake.

Yes, but if you were a kid and had never seen anyone use a rocket launcher or a book with pics about it, how would you know how to hold it?
