Oh for heavens sake, this is sooooooo stupid.

Should we go to World Meetings and Conferences and act like the poor relatives that get put up in the barn and have to use the outhouse?

It is standard practice to stay in the Hotel/Conference center where the meetings are held and to join the rest of the delagates for Dinner, drinks and friendly converation. This is so standard it would be an embarrassement to the country to do differently.

I partly agree, but these conventions/meeting are supposedly planned and booked by a bureaucrat and I think it would only make sense they shop around for the cheapest accommodations that satisfy the standards of cleanliness, safety and edible, nutritious food and warm, dry, comfortable room......................not gold faucets etc. etc.

JLM do some reading about the Governor General's duties before you spout off nonsense about it. "shop around for the cheapest
accommodations"......I can't believe you posted that. In your world I assume the Governor General could be put up at the "Y".

It would be setting a good example! Isn't that what they are about? Should they have privileges not afforded to the rest of us?

The Governors General are picked from the very best of us to do a very important job. Certainly they would have privileges that the
general public don't have. Are you a closet communist?

Not intentionally, but I don't align myself with any of the other sleazy parties either. I've never suggested that the G.G. be cut back on his/her room or grub to the extent it would impede their duties.

JLM for your information, I don't think the G.G. gets a room.
