The big question is who wants an high paid goaltender when there are now so many good and reasonably priced goaltenders in the NHL? I can't see anyone taking him with a 10-year 5MM+ cap hit. Perhaps some form of buyout and restructure is needed to go with it,... or Brian Burke is interested.

Luongo: I'll waive my no-trade clause if I'm asked to

If it wasn't for so long, I would want the Leafs to at least think about it as their goaltending situation is quite dire. However, 10 years is far too long.

Canucks would not get a huge return for a trade for luongo, he is well into his thirties now.

I think a first pick and another player, maybe a young prospect would be OK.

there are quite a few teams with lots of cap space, maybe tampa is one of them, as they need a goalie
in the worst way.

New Jersey needs a goalie, brodeur is in his 40s now, and the back up is almost 40.

Pittsburg need a goalie, don't know how much cap space they have.

Yeah, there is always toronto.

Luong said today he would waive his no trade clause, as he would never stand in the way of anyone.
He is a good person, a very thoughtful person, and I'm sure he and gillis will come to a conclusion
that will fit him and the canucks.

Canucks would get a big return for schneider, but schneider shouldn't go anywhere.

As soon as Luongo is gone, the fans in vancouver can take their attention from him and start picking
away at schneider till he can't stand it here any more, 'goaltenders graveyard' remember?
They are picking apart gillis now, and vineault, the team finished first two years in a row, won
the presidents' cup both times, went right to the 7th game of the stanley cup, and many people
are questioning if the coach should be fired.

amazing.

If we need a scapegoat, I would nuke Viggy or AV as he is sometimes known. But I feel destructive some days. I give him until next January or February. I consider this an off year, but they have to win it all in 2013. We haven't won a cup, ever, things are harsh here in the temperate rainforest at the edge of the world.

Getting a top 4 defenceman for Luongo is not unreasonable, although suckerland-Toronto, doesn''t have one to offer. Too bad. His cap hit is only 5 million.

why would you ever consider firing a coach who has taken this team to two presidents' cups, a 7th game
of the stanley cup finals, and is a steady as she goes guy, whom the players respect and get along with
very well.

isn't it bottom dwellers, and poor teams that you would think about such things, and not a team that has
done so well, the best record of any coach canucks has ever had, yet, some suggest he should be fired,
I find that unbelievable.

You know, if canucks won the stanley cup, i'm sure many fans would still be whining about why they won it,
and how they won it in spite of 'something'.

Why is it that the vancouver fans can't seem to like their team, their coach and the g.m., I am really
curious to know that, what do these people have to do to ever satisfy the fans and the media.

I don't think winning the cup would do it, I really don't.
amazing.

Roberto is only a small part of the problem The coach has to go and as well
as the useless Sedin's. This team needs some brute force as well as passing
and shooting. Canucks were not ready for the series and they were the
president cup winners only because the played a disproportionate number of
games against western division teams. The eastern teams are much better.
Vanoucver would not have beaten the flyer's, the penguin, Boston or Washington.
Going out in the first round is not acceptable.
Of course i have my own problems, I am a Habs fan and our endeavour will be to
field a new team for next fall.

Uh Fleury has won a Cup.... you know, those championship trophy things, everyone wants so badly? Pittsburgh is better off than the Canucks with their goaltending situation. Fleury's confidence took a shot because his team refused to play D but he can still get it done. And the Pens are working on re-signing Crosby and Staal.
