Within arms reach of the new baby..
I have been on a classics kick lately, and now I need something fun, and fabulous to read. Most recently, Crime and Punishment and Les Miserables have drained my energy!

So, any great suggestions for a great book that won't take a great deal of brainpower, and won't have me hunting for a dictionary?

My favs are anything by Christopher Moore (irreverent and laugh out loud funny), especially Practical Demon Keeping.

I also love Carl Hiaasen. Sick Puppy, Tourist Season ... any of his are pee your pants funny. Offbeat characters, an exercise in the absurd.

If you like chick books, read Janet Evanovich's sequence of Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter ... "One for the Money" "Two for the Dough" etc. etc.

I love junk food novels. If I'm going to read something serious, I study computer software manuals. :) Other than that, I love something I can just escape in.
