DALLAS (Reuters) - A lock of socialist revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara's hair and related items were auctioned on Thursday in Dallas to a Houston-area bookstore owner for the very capitalist sum of $119,500 (52,000 pounds).

Dr. Ernesto "Che" Guevara is one of my heroes. The obligatory Che poster hangs over my PC at home. He was a doctor in Nicaragua during the United Fruit Company/CIA coup. No wonder a doctor of allergies became a socialist revolutionaire. He was not a terrorist, he was a freedom fighter. He was not a Communist either. He may have had Marxist tendencies but was more socialist than communist. He never joined the communist party. He fought for the freedom of the peasant classes in south and central America.
