Premier League

Liverpool 5-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool were yesterday crowned English champions once again after thrashing London club Spurs at Anfield.

It is a record-equalling 20th league title for the English football giants and the city that gave the world The Beatles, drawing level with their arch-rivals Manchester United, and their first league title since 2020.

Liverpool's German former manager Jürgen Klopp - who was the club's manager when they won their first title for 30 years in 2020 - shouts "Arne Slot!" over the microphone at Anfield. In return, Liverpool's Dutch manager Arne Slot shouts "Jürgen Klopp!" over the microphone.

This came just after Liverpool won a record-equalling 20th English league title - although it's only their third since 1990.

Liverpool's record-equalling 20 league titles: 01, 06, 22, 23, 47, 64, 66, 73, 76, 77, 79, 80, 82, 83, 84, 86, 88, 90, 20, 25.

Liverpool also have more top flight wins and points than any other team in history.

Liverpool fans climb trees as they celebrate title win

Thousands of Liverpool fans line the streets of the city - and even climb trees - to get a glimpse of the team bus as it leaves Anfield after they thrash London club Spurs to win a record-equalling 20th English league title.

Bathed in red smoke, the bus carried a jubilant team that has won the 24-25 Premier League with four games remaining.

We all know England is football crazy, but this is just... crazy...

"I never understood people who come back from the game saying 'We won!' No, THEY won. You watched."
--Jerry Seinfeld

Good point.

Although congratulations to Liverpool for being the most successful English football club. They've drawn level with Manchester United for joint-most titles but have won the most trophies overall, including the most European Cups.
