Too much mudslinging, fighting and just general issues between members which creates too much tension around here.

A couple of people have been removed and since then, things seem to have settled down quite a bit. Just keep name-calling and anger to yourself.

It is virtually impossible for strongly opinionated people to discuss politics without it dissolving into a mudslinging war. And there any many strongly opinionated people on these boards. Me being one of them.

The gap between the right and the left has become considerably wider in the past few years.

I kind of like having members that represent the many different fascets in Canada: We have our left, right, north/south, monarchists, separatist, fedaralists, immigrants, their decendents, french, dutch, stoners, gay, straight, clean, dirty, hard working, slackers.

It wouldn't be Canadian content if we didn't have representation of everyone. As long as we're capeable of discourse that we as Canadians are stereotyped as, then I'm sure that the debates and conversations will always remain interesting.

Right on the money. I must add, that this is what makes Canada so great. We never resort to violence. I think thats why the hole seperatist issue in Québec isnt over yet. Its because none of us, on either side, has resorted to outright violence. We are doing this the canadian way. Threw discourse and diplomacy.

But when we start to limit that free speach, we change, to something else. Sure, the left wingers, like myself, will continue to doubt everything. And the right wingers, will continue to do the same. Its the way things are. As long as we do it the canadian way, then tumbs up.

Mudslinging is a truly Canadian passtime. The difference is that we can do it in a refined manner rather than resorting to crudities. I have always admired people like Winston Churchill, or more laterly, Boris Johnson. They had the ability to verbally destroy an opponent simply with an exquisit use of vocabulary and metaphor. Sadly, this is a declining skill.
