So Jack Layton is trying to pass a ''motion of blame'' on the environment because of Harper's mediocre record on the issue.

Of course, the Libs are supporting the motion... so is the Bloc... That should lead us into an election. But no... the Liberals will make sure not enough of them are voting against the Cons to topple the government.

For a leader that supposedly has the environement as one of his top priorities, I have a hard time understanding Stéphane Dion's logic... Of course, the polls aren't favourable to him and that seems to be the only thing dictaing his actions.

I say he's chicken ****. He's got no spine,

Lacking a spine is the least of their worries...Ya need a head for the spine to support first.

It seems like Cons are asking for election.I wonder why, do they think they get majority?

Obviously, they think they will do better.....notice that Mr. Harper DID address (in a minor way) the democratic deficit in this country by bringing in fixed election dates......thus lessening the power of the PM's office........that is, of course, his own power,

So much for meglomania and the "secret agenda".

Better is still not a majority though. But I am all for election, just so Stephane Dion steps down as a leader of liberals.

Yah, what heros Layton and Duceppe are, if they hadn't jumped into bed with Harper in late 2005 the conservatives wouldn't be in power now.

Harper only has one true agenda as a minority leader and that's to get his majority. Dion as the opposition leader has been doing a very effective job at high personal cost to prevent this, I think he's got more spine than any other federal leader out there. No opposition leader has faced as public and determined assault on his character and actions as Dion, the fact he's still able to return and fight every day says volumns about the mans courage and principles.

Personally I admire the little guy who takes his lumps and carries on no matter what to the bully who beats the crap out of anyone who threats his delusions of grandeur. Dion represents the Canadian spirit in a ways Harper never will.
