I think Ed Brodbent quit too early. He would have made a great leader - better than Jack Layton.

I agree in terms of what would have been best for the party, but he'd had enough of politics and needed a break on personal level. That has to be respected.

Being in power has a corrupting influence on all governments so it's nice when one that hasn't had their turn at the trough finally gets in.

Which is an excellent argument for proportional representation, direct democracy, or both.
