No, I'm pretty on board with any kind of lobbying unless it's somehow illegal.
You mean like paying union members to be extra's in the off off Broadway production of Prince Selfie takes Ottawa. Followed up with repealing legislation that makes union's more transparent.

Never heard of that one but I can say that less transparency on where funding comes from doesn't sit well with me.

The counter point I'm hearing from the Liberal talkbot is that business and private industry doesn't have to reveal where they get their money from.

I think the fairest thing to do would be to mandate transparency on both sectors though.

Lobbying is the same as asking and all taxpayers ask for their government to do things. Petitions is lobbying and no one complains about that.

Harper was all about transparency alright. lol More like the plan was to smear the unions so the Company Town policy to regain full control of the few workers that were championing equal rights for workers rather than just for the owners.

I have no problem with mandatory union dues, so long as the money doesn't filter down to political parties that I don't democratically support.
What would be the point of a strong union when the job market is gearing up for only having part-time employees who are not going to have any sort of 'union' watching their backs?

You got something specific you want to say you introverted Walnut??

But "More CBC chicanery, I'm sure."

Flossy does. But only when sectors he doesn't like, do it.

you just called me an introverted walnut because I don't like my union dues going towards a political party that already receives tax payer funding.Get over it.

How is asking a valid question racist? You seem to be in a lot of pain this morning Walnut. The comment was about you having a lack of courage (or conviction) concerning a wide range of topics. So you want the Government that is friendly towards the Companies that hate Unions to be the ones to regulate things. Do you even care that part-timers have no unions and they will be the full workforce in the very near future?
Off to the doc to get some more meds so you have a few hours to contemplate you reply that might evolve past the normal red that introverts like to throw around.

So am I supposed to guess which comments - after you quoted me - were directed at me?

Why not add a "-------------------------------------------------------------------" as a page break?

I thought everybody knew Walnut was my pet name for Walter and his obsession with giving reds and then the silent treatment. My bad, I was in a rush in my next post. It appears that it is now squared away, and rather quickly I might add. (sometimes these little issues tales pages and pages and months to clear up.
