Who cares, the provinces always complain. I'd rather have tax cuts to ME, then money thrown to provinces that may never get down to me.
Well I'm in Ontario, I rather Ontario not payout to the federal government to help the have-not provinces since the poor are getting poorer in Ontario.
I almost agree. I think the days of have-not provinces are over. The feds should kill the equalization program, and reduce income taxes across for all income levels.
The biggest joke is Quebec as a have-not province. If I were a Quebecer I'd be embarrassed that my province can't get it together well enough to get of the federal dole.
I'm in Ontario too and am embarrassed that our current prov government can't stop whining about being short changed by the feds. If balancing the budget is too big a chore for you, resign and let the next guys have a chance.

Lil. Actually I have family right across the country. Some in U.S too. Some overseas in India, Europe, Israel, Taiwan ...teaching less fortunate kids and working in orphanages.
I'm a little different than the average Ontarian. I've lived most of my life in the West - Kamloops as a kid and Vancouver later on. The ontario government is a disgrace. They can't solve any of their problems. Caledonia? Ask the feds to fund the problem. Coal burning electicity generation can't close it down because we didn't plan anything else. Fiscal imbalance, as the richest province in the country we deserve more from the feds (I can't understand that). Garbage problem in Toronto ship it to the states. I wonder where all the tax revenue goes in this province
