Ever wondered what all that screen time is doing to your face?
A 29-year-old woman discovered the nightmarish truth about how technology can not only rot our brains but also our skin.
Bianca Knight from Surrey, U.K. was shocked by a skin test results that proved HEV light or “blue light” emitting from computer and phone screens were causing her to age faster.
“I was horrified to discover the extent of damage to not only the outer layers of the skin, as would be expected from UV light, but also from the lower layers of the skin from the HEV Light,” Knight told Daily Mail U.K.
She started to get more skin conscious after changing careers as investment bank over to the cosmetics industry.
That concern led her to visit Dr. Rekha Tailor at Health and Aesthetics.
The Brown Scale Surface Pigmentation Test revealed her dark spots that were caused by blue light that has the ability to damage the skin deeper than UVA and UVB light.
After seeing the results, Knight got a skin peel to try to improve the harm caused by everyday use of technology at work.
“People don’t realise that everyday things like using your phone and watching TV or working on the computer omits HEV Light which is extremely ageing on the skin,” said Knight.
The skin treatment helped shed layers of her damaged skin to reveal better skin than before.
A month later, Knight went back for another test to see if there were any improvements from her skincare.
The results were far better than what they were before but Knight is determined to make light protection cream a part of her daily routine.
