read for yourself from what I'd call the more blanced network.

He paid for it threw OHIP and the clinic has been apart of the health care system for years. Also if you listen to what Layton said in the past. He said Private clinics in the system were normal.

Anyhow this is pretty sad when you have to twist things like this around. This is the type of Spin you would have in an american election.

Agreed both Liberal and conservative people try to spin things to their own concern for their own benefit.

Luckily it hasn't hurt Layton in the poll now that his party is around 18% in all big polling firm polls.

funnily enough in this Spin is the facts that Martin uses private clinics and Harper said he would use private clinics.

I agree this won't hurt Layton, but he really is not much more than a lame-duck already so there was not that much to "hurt".

Damage to Layton

I honestly doubt that the support for the New Democratic Party of Canada, nor the Hon. Jack Layton, is going to be seriously affected by this issue; in my opinion, this alleged "scandal" pales in comparison to those of both the Liberal Party of Canada and the Conservative Party of Canada.

I truly believe that most Canadians understand that voting for the liberals wouldn't keep the Conservatives out. And because the NDP is intune with their values they are voting for the NDP.

We will have to see on election day how strong the 18% is but I wouldn't be surprise if it actually rises as people move away from the Liberals.

unfortunately, as the old saying goes "choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil".

Too bad that so long as the plebs are held in line with the bare amount of supposed "reward", they won't dare do anything to overthrow the system.

I penned an article above about how most of Alberta's Health care is now "privitized" abiet into corporation with boards still appointed by the Government but, private never the less.

Hospitals have been private for many years, owned by the hospital boards who are appointed or in the past, elected.

These same boards and now Authorities can buy and sell hospital chattel property buldings at will, only need apporoval of the cabinet. Fox and Henhouse here.

The point being; of the million plus hospital visits I would guess that not 1 person thought "is this private or not".

That speaks well to an intergrated system. What isn't so good is when this equity is signed off to an insider, Mr. Dinning for instance.

No, on this one Mr. Layton is in the clear.

"When faced with the choice between two evils, I like to choose the one I haven't tried before." Mae West

Gotta love her. :D

Edited to say:

I doubt she was think of health care policy, though.

Does anyone remember what the NDP poll numbers were like last time around?

10% in Calgary  almost as good this campaign. In local polls yesterday the NDP at 8% (Greens in Calgary at 13%).
