It took nearly two pages, Finder, but you answered the question: No, Mr. Layton shouldn't lie. Haha, geez, we do tend to draw these things out, don't we? Sorry for getting so accusatory, by the way. I may have been misreading your posts, but they seemed to amount, in my view, to read: "The Grits and Tories shouldn't lie, but the NDP doesn't do it as often, so that makes it okay."

lmao at both of ya
Hey ITN
Hey I just don't think liberals pointing there fingers and screaming liers is, um, well.... you know. Kind of makes me laugh really.

Paradox, no my point is that making a big deal of it and painting Jack Layton the red devil over it is kind of over exaggerating the situation. But yes, none of them should lie, but they are all human and mistakes like these happen. It's up to layton if he is called on it by the media to set things straight and either give us evidence the NDP or himself got the chance to raise this before the Liberals or just take responciblity for the mistake.

However this being an almost non-issue I doubt we will not hear about it at all. Of course I maybe wrong there too. lol

Jack Layton has been silent. There must be some way to get your face on TV once in awhile. Issue some public statements, challenges, whatever.
So I am ready to let him go now too. And I voted NDP last time [which turned out to be the very first time I voted for someone who got in, in Fed or prov elections, over 30 yrs]

As for this "lie", its not really a lie,is it? - and I suppose there could be a flat tire excuse for being late? - or am I late to the debate?
I think they should just fix up some of those wharves, hey.

As for this being late, I suppose there was a flat tire excuse, maybe. but I don't think it alone is worth resigning over.Fix up some wharves, hey.

If he resigned over it i would die of shock that a Canadian politician took responciblity for what they said. Hell 90% of the current parliment would be empty right now. lol. Harper would have been gone his first day!

Oh, I never intended to suggest that he should resign. That would be absurd.

By "denounce", I meant that in the sense of the word "denounce", and nothing more. As in, "Hey, don't do that."

I think not

Thing is the Liberals are basing the whole thing on a line out of a single newspaper article that doesn't even quote him directly. We'll see. It would be pretty stupid of him if that's what he actually said. Its also possible Jack started the idea in committee.

Jack will get his chance to respond today during Statements by Members, Question Period or as a Point of Order right after that since the issue was mentioned by another member in Parliament.

afa using the press goes, so far its still only one paper that carried it at all. a sole source, actually. makes you wonder.
