Britain and Nigeria say they can "tighten the grip of friendship" as the countries' Heads of State enjoy banquet together at Windsor Castle

King Charles III and Queen Camilla have welcomed Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on a State Visit to Britain.

In the banquet speech at Windsor Castle, the King talked about the importance of Nigerian culture in the UK.

Nigeria is an English speaking country of 236 million people, making it the world's sixth-largest country by population. There is a large Nigerian community in Britain...

This evening Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla and Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu agreed closer relations between the two Anglophone nations during a lavish banquet at Windsor Castle attended by 160 people.

Britain is to give Nigeria £746 million to fund the redevelopment of Nigeria's two major ports; Nigeria to make a £70 million contract for British Steel; a "Memorandum of Understanding" to explore and develop future trade opportunities; a deal for Britain to send back rejected Nigerian immigrants with no ease of return.

All of these were agreed upon by the countries' Heads of States

With wars going on, it's nice to see two countries being friends.

Nigeria has Africa's largest economy.

Britain has the world's sixth-largest economy, 11 times larger than Nigeria's.

Nigeria has 236 million people has Britain has 70 million.

Crazy.

Pomp and ceremony: Britain welcomes Nigerian President like no other country can

On a glorious spring day British soldiers glittered in the spring sunshine in front of the stage where their King and Queen greeted the Nigerian President and First Last.

The world's sixth-richest country has agreed numerous deals with one of the world's fastest-growing economies.
