King Charles III has visited the Royal Marines training base in Lympstone, Devon, to mark the British military unit's 360th birthday.
The King - who has just celebrated his 76th birthday - visited the base where he completed his helicopter training as the Prince of Wales 50 years ago.
His Majesty announced that the Royal Marines "Sword of Honour" will now be called the "King's Sword" and "Royal Marine of the Year" will be renamed "King's Royal Marine of the Year".
The Royal Marines were founded in 1664 during the Second Anglo-Dutch War in the reign of King Charles II.
As well as being Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces the King is also Captain General of the Royal Marines.
The King wore his Captain General uniform - which is exactly the same as a British Army Field Marshal's uniform.
