King Charles III - Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces - has launched the newest Royal Navy warship into service.
At Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, His Majesty launched HMS Agamemnon, the sixth of seven of the Royal Navy's powerful and hi-tech Astute-class nuclear submarines.

Each Astute-class submarine can carry a mixture of Spearfish and Tomahawk missiles. The Tomahawks are capable of hitting a target from within a few metres from a range of 1000 miles.
For detecting enemy ships and submarines, each Astute-class submarine is fitted with Sonar 2076, which the British claim is the best sonar system in the world.

One of the roles of the Astute-class submarines is to protect the Vanguard-class submarines, which carry Britain's nuclear weapons.
The last of the Astute-class submarines - HMS Achilles - is currently under construction.
Construction is also soon to begin on the Royal Navy's new Dreadnought-class submarines.
The video seems to confuse the Astute-class with the Dreadnought-class, but they are two separate classes of Royal Navy submarines.
