In one of those ancient British traditions which dates back centuries - in this case around 700 years - King Charles III and Queen Camilla donned robes and ostrich feathers in the Order of the Garter ceremony on Monday 17th June.
Ladies and Knights of the Garter processed through the grounds of Windsor Castle for the annual service commemorating the most senior rank of chivalry that can be obtained in Britain.
British composer Andrew Lloyd-Webber - famous for Cats and Phantom of the Opera - who has recently become a Knight Companion of the order, took part for the first time.
This is the pomp and pageantry the British are very good at.
