In our society where adults rarely take responsibility for their own actions I am hardly surprised that kids don't either. We are so determined to blame everyone else and not ourselves...kids learn what they see!
"I spilled hot coffee on myself...what a klutz! Oh wait...not my fault...better blame someone else!"
I raped a woman...but I was drunk...not my fault!"

I think kids are surrounded by so much more violence in the news, movies, video games, between parents and in schools, on the street on the bus. I think kids do need to be taught how to be responsible for their actions, but at the same time...they're kids, they dont' always know or understand the consequences of their own actions.

Well they must have had Rotor in the wings as it looks like they wasted no time in hiring him right after the election. I really doubt the liberals snuck someone this significant in at end.

Aids might be a big threat but it doesn't register large in Canada. There are groups bound and determined that it should. But they can stand in line. Global warming is a far bigger issue for me. As well as the maintenance of biodiversity. Of my top 20 concerns Aids ain't on the ticket. After watching a couple of documentaries on the spread of the disease in Africa and the mindbogglingly cavalier attitude so many have there, carried by CBC earlier this year, I'm surprised it's on anyone's list.

Please don't tell me you believe Harper is working on global warming. I didn't think there were any turnip trucks around here.

But you've practically sold me on not voting for the conservatives again. If this is the kind os attitude the compassionate conservatives in this country are going to take, I'll be more than happy to punt.

and REGARDLESS of who was in office, this really isn't a partisan issue, this was a couple of guys either badly managing there time or at most skipping out on a few meetings. Which has NOTHING to do with the government. Accountability comes in with the fact that they will be investigated (if there is something to investigate) and they will be held accountable if they did something wrong.

Or do you expect Harper and his government to read in to the future.

Kreskin, surely you'll not vote based strictly on a single issue or two. 'I'm voting for the party with the best Aids position...' That's a tad over the top. I'm not entirely happy with Harper and you're right - some issues important to me won't register with the lad - but in Canadian politics we never get entirely what we want.

This is very much a partisan issue. Harper campaigned on reforming government. He has done nothing but try and play the corrupt system.

The major problem and detriment for conservatives is their lack of maturity and intellectual capability. There is a heavy reliance for thought on right wing puppeteers such as Ann Coulter and we see an abundance of her myopic witticisms in Graeme’s posts. “sanch you are really showing your ignorance” is a straight Coulterism. It’s like you’re addicted to baby pabulum.

Coulter is an ideologue and every pitch or hit from conservatives is a home run or grand slam to her. Not just picking on Coulter as she is just an example of a trend. Still there are a lot of foul balls and missed hits here by Harper and troop and to call all these home runs is delusional.

I think you may be in the wrong country. There is no tradition or mechansim in Canada for investigating corruption. Did you not listen to any of Harper's campaign speaches? Apparently not. Try reading the Gomery report.

I didn't make any mention of a "tradition or mechanism in Canada for investigating corruption" although there is one, but I didn't mention it, PLUS it is being re-vamped!
