SAN ANTONIO -- A Texas school district says no one will face punishment after video surfaced of high school students using a cat's intestines as a jump rope during a lesson.
Officials with the North East Independent School District told KENS-TV incident happened earlier this month during an anatomy class at Winston Churchill High School.
The district said the teacher felt the lesson was "effective" for demonstrating how long and tough intestines are.
Spokeswoman Aubrey Chancellor says the lesson was not meant to be disrespectful. She says neither the students nor teacher will be punished because there is no "ill will." But she says the district will update the lesson plan.
Animals rights group PETA told the TV station the school should replace "cruel and crude" dissection methods with animal-free lessons.

How do you dissect and animal in an animal free way? PETA is a bunch of idiots.

Not sure the point of this particular lesson however.

As counsel to the cat, I am seeking an emergency restraining order to prevent Texas and all its agencies and subdivisions from using cat intestines for any purpose other than digesting catfood.

Next, I go after fiddlers.

They used to make violin strings out of catgut, athough the intestines they used came from animals like cattle and horses rather than actually cats.

Exactly, my first set of strings was made from catgut. They made a warm sound. Haven't used catgut in years. Not sher if they make them anymore.

Making beautiful music is different than skipping rope.
We used to make all kinds of music skipping rope. So many songs were sung on the playground while skipping.
