It's because Barney Frank is gay, you see.
For the record, there are 3 current openly GLBT members of Congress.

Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin)
Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colorado)
Of course, if you believe that ten percent of the population is GLBT and that Congress is representative of that, then there would really be about 53 (10 percent of 535) GLBT members.
