You want that volcano under Yellowstone?

You're still a geographical idiot.

How so Jim?

In response to mom's post about how unwell your country is doing with its war on terrorism you responded by saying "We're screwed"...

I took that to mean that your country is screwed...

With your country being screwed, such as it will be, I thought I'd place dibs on a few parcels of land...

Texas and Wyoming are still part of the US are they not?

The Senate committee sent Bolton's nomination to the full Senate without a recommendation today. Maybe they'll shut this lunatic down yet.

I pray that you are right Rev, but i fear that he will get in regardless. Articles like this scare the hell out of me.
The U.N. needs Bolton
By Boston Herald editorial staff

The simple fact is that the United Nations is desperately in need of a guy like John Bolton to help usher it into a new and more relevant role on the world stage, to protect the interests of the United States and the more than $2 billion in annual contributions this nation makes to the U.N.

President Bush has certainly made no secret of his reasoning in wanting Bolton in the job. He has called the current undersecretary of state for arms control ``a blunt guy'' who ``can get the job done at the United Nations'' and ``who isn't afraid to speak his mind.''

Isn't that exactly what's needed to help clean up that scandal-ridden organization? - cont

Can't they see that this man will destroy any vestige of respect that the rest of the world has for the United States if he is allowed to attack the UN from within? Can't they see that the "scandal-ridden organization" that they see pales in comparison to the scandal ridden government that leads them? Don't they know that their dues are so far in arrears that at one point they were in danger of losing their membership in the UN? Obviously the American press has failed in it's role to inform the American public and is acting more like a propaganda branch of the US Government. What I see is that more and more the United States is parallelling the course that Nazi Germany took in the 30's, and no one seems to be doing anything to prevent it - this is what scares me most.

With all the thugs and thieves that currently run the nations and its staff in the United Nations, you all are freaking out about one of them.

I don't care for Bolton either. He has not earned the right bullying underlings and threatening them if their reports do not match Bolton policy. THAT is a HUGE issue with me.

But is there balance here?

Libya heading Human Rights?

The UN Food for Saddam Palaces program?
I've seen your slippery tap dancing defending that one.

You all have no equal opportunity outrage.

Really, you don't.

Yes we do Jimmy. The US was fully aware of what was going under Oil for Food. You are aware that we are aware of that because you've never been able to counter it.

You can't counter this either:

Annan's proposed reforms include reforming the Human Rights Commission so that countries like Libya won't be chairing it in the future. Your country, including Bolton and Bush, are against those reforms. You are presently stopping effective change. You have done so time and again in the past as well.
