I took that to mean that your country is screwed...
With your country being screwed, such as it will be, I thought I'd place dibs on a few parcels of land...

The Senate committee sent Bolton's nomination to the full Senate without a recommendation today. Maybe they'll shut this lunatic down yet.

I pray that you are right Rev, but i fear that he will get in regardless. Articles like this scare the hell out of me.
Can't they see that this man will destroy any vestige of respect that the rest of the world has for the United States if he is allowed to attack the UN from within? Can't they see that the "scandal-ridden organization" that they see pales in comparison to the scandal ridden government that leads them? Don't they know that their dues are so far in arrears that at one point they were in danger of losing their membership in the UN? Obviously the American press has failed in it's role to inform the American public and is acting more like a propaganda branch of the US Government. What I see is that more and more the United States is parallelling the course that Nazi Germany took in the 30's, and no one seems to be doing anything to prevent it - this is what scares me most.

You can't counter this either:
Annan's proposed reforms include reforming the Human Rights Commission so that countries like Libya won't be chairing it in the future.
