NEW YORK (AP) - Spotify's popular U.S. podcaster Joe Rogan apologized Saturday after a video compilation surfaced that showed him using racial slurs in clips of episodes over a 12-year span.

“It's not my word to use. I am well aware of that now, but for years I used it in that manner,” he said during the six-minute video on his Instagram account. “I never used it to be racist because I'm not racist.”

Rogan's mea culpa follows Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter India.Arie's announcement on Thursday that she was removing her music from the Spotify streaming service because of racial slurs that Rogan had made during his podcasts. She posted the video montage of Rogan's clips on her Instagram account.

In her video, Arie said even if some of Rogan's conversations were taken out of context, “he shouldn't be uttering the word.”
“Don't even say it under any context,” she added.

Um. . . yes it does. Corporations don't have morals.

If they don't have morals, then their success becomes temporary.

That's why spotify had to delete those episodes.

And why they will continue to make changes that they should have a long time ago.

Joe Rogaine has said "I'm not a racist." (To be fair, David Duke, George Wallace, Nathan Bedford Forrest, and Robert E. Lee said the same.)

But in Rogaine's case, I'd be willing to listen to an argument that he's just shouting shit he don't believe to milk the rubes.

Rogan is a social conservative. He coordinates with others to maintain that agenda.

That's why the staunchest free speech 'advocates' constantly try to stifle speech about promoting progressivism.

Free speech is just a cloak to promote their social agenda. #honkhonkhonk

Spotify and Rogan are like that really fat greasy business guy with the hot gold digger who are stuck with each other.

Spotify will spend $100m on content from marginalized groups

Ek says he’s committing $100 million — the same amount reportedly paid to exclusively distribute Rogan’s show — to licensing, developing, and marketing music and other audio content by creators from historically marginalized groups. He also says the company is expanding the number of outside experts it consults on how to balance user safety and “creator expression” and will share more details.
