my analogy compared greece society/religion to the christian bible.
both cultures - the greek and the christian ones - treated women as chattel, as sub-species.
what i thought was interesting though, was that while grecian men felt the need to keep their women in their place, so that presumably they could feel loftier about their own importance, they did not however, feel the need to vilify women. and to me that is shown clearly by the amount of powerful goddesses sitting cheek to cheek with the men.
this is not so in christianity.
it is an interesting point to me. something i think is very relevant on their culture. and ours.
