Yes Emma I really really do live in Victoria...I got the red ruby slippers and the snow to prove it :p  There are a few of us here that reside in lotusland. (To bring this home to you, I will tell you I am writing this crossed legged in the lotus position in my chair...slurping soup with one hand typing with the other...of course I am female so the multi-tasking is a given

Emma I will pm you a ton of links about victoria...and ehm...fill me in on your coming to lotusland :p

That's great thanks Peapod. We are coming over for a couple of weeks in April- we are staying in West Vancouver but will definitely be coming over to the Island to explore for a few days. I hear seaplane is the best way to get there and not too expensive- is it right that it is only $20 ish for a return ticket or is that just pie in the sky??

Do I need to be able to get in to the lotus position to visit...cos there's no chance of that...my legs would snap first!

Its still snowing! This is big stuff around here people. Ehm..emma that is real big pie in the sky   For twenty bucks you can still walk on the ferry, return. Closer to a hundred with a vehicle. 8O Flying well I have not taken a plane to vancouver in years, but I am sure its a lot more than 100 return. Take the ferry, you will love it. But I will send you some information...ah...don't worry about the lotus postion, it comes natural out here. Must be that good air we breathe :p  Sparky left a set of her keys here this morning...so now I am gonna walk over and move her car down the street...she does not realize she left a set here....it the snow..its making me stupid :p

Wow, nothing comes to a standstill here when it snows. If things get really ugly they close the highways, but that's usually just for a few hours.

I went out to get some drawings I've done printed, and they were closing. I got there just in time but the few inches of snow was too much. They had to send people home. So I walked around and took pictures of the Gorge and the galloping goose trail. It's so nice when it snows, but people in Victoria dont know what to do. All day I could hear sirings. Must of been alot of accidents today.

Hey gonza I was on the goose trail today :p What part of town do you live in? I know its so much fun...people are going nuts :p I worked on a ski hill in kimberly for 5 years, so I lost my fear of snow. The best part was driving down the hill "sideways" The best part of it all is how kind people are, really I have never seen the neighbourhood more friendly. Its so strange to live in a city and there is no traffic....I heard it was going to be like this until wednesday. 8O

I live right near the Goose. Gorge Rd. Lovely view of the water. I hope the weather stays like this. I love the snow. Everything slows down. It's okay to be a little late for work. Stores close. People stay home and relax. Love the winter. I couldn't live in a country with out it. We need to stop global warming before we loose our winters!

Wanna hear something weird? The last two times I've been at this thread my neighbour has fired up his sled. How the heck does he manage that kind of timing?

Personally I think he's crazy...it's brutally cold outside. It's his bag he's freezing though, so what the heck?

That's something I bet you guys haven't got though...not a lot of call for snowmobiles once you get off the mountains out there.
