Most wars started by the US are started by the then Presidents to safe guard their personal interests. Then, they present it to the nation as the country’s interest. Then will educate the people the need for going to war for the welfare of the nation and its people. Soon the nation is prepared for war. However, there are any number of Americans who are against war.

I'm not sure what your question is, dr. If your question is are citizens of democratic countries resposible for the actions of their government, well then the answer is "absolutely 100% yes"! Ignorance is no excuse. That is why an independant press and freedom of expression is vital - to ensure that the people actually hear the truth and not just the official government line.

Do you really think we have an independant press and freedom of expression in this country?Go read the bible passages against homosexuality in public. One complaint and your going to jail.Ask Ernst zundel if he had freedom of expression?I'm not saying I agree with him but if you want true freedom of expression you have to take the good with bad.We don't have a true independant press there corporately controled, and the goverment has taken away our freedom of expression MMMike

Ask someone living in China, or Syria if we have freedom of expression. Absolutely, we do. The degree of freedom of opinion will swing like a pendulum (like many things, including political leanings).... I agree that there is a lot of self-censorship these days, but it is generally not an act of the state. But in the long run, the decentralization of communication by the Internet will make 'corporate control' over the media impossible.

I think were doing it right now with these threads .People have to get more involved with the political process. We have to vote for the people that represent our veiws and morals and less on politcal partys. The problem is the partys are all corrupt ,the mps go to Ottawa with great hopes if getting something done for there ridings. Then they find out they have no say and are told to tow the party line. The corporate lobby groups need to be taken out of the politcal system to start with!I agree campaign financing should goverment funded 100%That would be a good start.

I think propaganda is how the general population is lead down the wrong path. The constant bombardment of pro government jingoism on the news down here. It stirs up violent irrational emotions in some. Some see through the thin guise of what is presented to be fact down here and dig a little deeper....in an attempt to find some truth. As the truth comes out we can only hope that America comes to its senses.
