I am really surprised about myself, as I normally consider myself more on the political minded side...but with that said...i really do not care about this election. I will vote, but if i didn't come here, i would barely know what the issues are..thats how little i am paying attention.
I feel like a lazy apathetic voter. Like i'm not really informing myself. I still have not made a complete decision yet. I normally vote Liberal, but i'm not entirely happy with everything that has gone on.. I have voted Reform in the far past, and i think the cons have done well, but i feel a bit of distrust about the whole con party under Harper, as well with some of their social stands. I think that the NDP have some good ideas, but i fundamentally disagree with a welfare, gov't heavy state. And the green party is just too ..um..out there.
Oddly enough, of all that I have paid attention to, the BLOC have some surprisingly good ideas. Too bad they are a seperatist party.
So i feel sortof adrift. I don't know which of the lesser evils to vote for. I usually vote for the best candidate..but i live in Edmonton Centre West..and we have really great candidates for all three major parties (Laurie Hawn for PC, Anne McLellan for Lib and Donna Martyn for NDP).
But i just can't bring myself to care..does anyone else feel this way or have some sort of apathy?
