no. it's natural to run or defend one's self, but it is a rational thing to either run or offer passive resistance, IMO. Violence to me is irrational. firstly i'm quite weak and don't like to hurt people, which makes me a bad fighter, secondly i truly believe that the man who offers the least violence and pain to the other is the true winner. I'd rather be beaten up than beat someone else. if those were the only two choices. it's rarely the case, though. usually u have another option, like run or talk, or not get involved in the first place

i'll accept it when i know it's there. If i handed you an invisible gift, would u reach out to take it or would u look at me like i was an idiot?

Well it depends? Who would you be? And has it been written of you that you would be giving out gifts? Notice the natural logic in my thinking?
But if after all that, I should decide to place my faith in you, than, whole heartedly, I would accept it!

But, you must give me some promises that if I do accept it, that you will be with me in spirit till the end of my life, and that you will also comfort me when I am down, and also heal my sorrows.

Those things I get now and without simply for the asking.

and then when u received this invisible gift, you felt nothing, no weight, no pressure on your hands, you might think maybe it wasnt anything at all. I notice the logic but it's a reason to make an assumption which can be tested, not a reason to take the gift as a fact.

And how would you not know it's there unless some one told you so?

I'm telling you so! It's there.
But first, I should explain the evidences leading to that assumption, otherwise, there's no logic in it.

There is a scripture that says:
My people are being destroyed for lack of knowledge"

What that means is that we are not capitalizing on the benefits given us for lack of knowledge of them!

do you agree with me on the fact that's it's perfectly logical (although not instinctive) to love your enemy, with or without the existance of God?

If I am looking for God to hit me on the head with a 2x4, than yes, I would feel something of a gift.

But the gift is not felt in the senses, but in our spirits which results in the senses feeling something.

Each of us have a spirit that defines us, who we are, how we are. That spirit has a heart. When God touches that heart with His presence, who you are and how you are changes.

That change is for the good, and the power to do evil is defeated. Whereby you can love your enemies.

P.S. I've got to run, gotta work, so i'll be back tonight.

well maybe that's already happened. I did change personalities at one point in my life, and i did suddenly realise it was nice to be nice, even if others weren't. is it possible to have this transition without acknowledging God?

I would say yes!

Godly attributes have to do with loving thy neighbor!
