For those delusional blind Bush lovers who feel that he can do no wrong and who succumb to the myth that his surge is working, here's some news for your consideration:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6949121.stm

The McClatchy group of newspapers, part of the American mainstream media, with a considerable reputation for honesty and painstaking accuracy in its Iraq reporting, says there were 5% more car-bombings in Baghdad in July than in December, before the surge began.
It also says the number of civilians killed in explosions is about the same.

Therefore, contrary to the lies and embroidered half truths that you get from the right wing media and Bush lovers, the surge is NOT working.

I am free to do whatever I want here in the good ol' USA. Then again I am not a terrorist. Just because you are jealous doesn't mean we aren't free. Don't be a hater DB.

Why are millions of people trying to get to the US every year... to be oppressed? See how silly your statement is?

I'd say you're rich. Not that you aren't free..but you put an oppressive rich state and a free poor state next to each other, I know which way the people move.

You're free compared to many nations, but not the most free. You aren't a libertarian society, though you once were.

Is adding 20,000 or so troops a real surge anyway?

US military commanders estimated that 300,000 troops were needed to successfully secure Iraq in 2003 before the invasion took place, about of half that were employed. Several months into Coalition control, Paul Bremer estimated that he needed as many as 500,000 boots on the ground to halt the growing insurgency. Now that violence between the seperate groups and against the coalition has become acute does it make sense that a limited "surge" is going to have any real effect.

This war has been mismanaged from the start and not by the military commanders. As long as Bush is calling the shots things are going to continue to go downhill, and Cheney doesn't offer any real solutions either. I think he's more preoccupied with how well Haliburton is making out than America.

Do they have accurate statistics?

I choose to listen to the voices of our miltary men and women who are in the heat of battle. they say the insurgents are well organized, well equipped and seem to have great communications network. The attacks are more vicious, calculated and are taking a hiorrible toll on the Iraqi citizenry. To me the only thing we have done is put more of our military in harms way and yes many more are being harmed too. For what??

As you read in that BBC article, the final numbers will be reported by the Bush regime. And you well know that it has absolutely no credibility at all.:angryfire:

For those delusionals who still believe the Bush created myth that Iraq has become a virtual paradise thanks to American imperialism, consider these truths:

http://www.counterpunch.org/patrick08182007.html

quote:

```The US 'surge' is not succeeding in reducing the overall level of violence despite the revolt of Sunni tribal leaders against al Qaida. There is also an escalating conflict between the American military and the main Shia militia, the Mehdi Army. The US has been seeking to put al Qaida in Iraq under enough pressure to prevent the use of massive suicide bombs against Shia civilian areas. This inevitably produces a rash of revenge killings of Sunni.```
I heard oil companies are hiring ex-military to defend their oil..
I say let these companies have their oil and let them defend for themselves.
It would be more secure since they don't hesitate to kill :p
So gopher, you think you should take security forces off the ground and encourage genocide?
You know thats the end game right? Both sides are shooting the USA because the USA is getting in between a genocide and keeping the two parties apart (As much as possible)
So what is your plan? Step back, wait for the ensuing genocide then re-invade without opposition, thats bloodthirsty of you.
Cause, they aren't going to let a group commit genocide on a path to power and get away with it to attack their neighbours.
I am not a politician and am not responsible for Bush's stupidity and imperialism.
As for further violence in iraq, the same thing happened in Vietnam and eventually it stopped. Thereafter it became capitalist. Keeping USA troops in Iraq will only make things worse. That's why it is time to get the hell out and to impose sanctions upon criminal Bush.
more trouble in Bush's ''heavenly paradise'':
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20326315/site/newsweek/
```unceasing violence has thrust Baghdad back to a more primitive era, forcing its people to take up pre-industrial occupations and rediscover almost forgotten technologies. The collapse of municipal water services has revived the profession of well-digging, especially in the Green Zone, where foreign diplomats are reluctant to give up their flush toilets and showers. Donkey and horse carts are increasingly common on the capital's streets; the animals are cheaper than trucks and less likely to be held up in searches for hidden explosives```

This is how the streets of Canada's major cities will be like if you allow criminal Bush to expand his plans of world conquest. Appeasement never stopped Hitler and it will not stop Bush.

Vietnam was one historical nation arguing about economy.

Iraq is parts of three nations arguing about faith and race. Those types of fight end with one side sending the others to camps.

Sadly, the same thing happened in Yugoslavia. But things have gotten more stable there. Eventually it will happen in Iraq as well. But it will not happen as long as Bush's occupational troops remain there.

Hey Gopher... Bush is out of the Oval Office in less than two years. Go get a drink or something.

Yes and thanks to US Bombs that curbed Serbian violence.
