Is anyone here into cultural/international music? I never used to be, but in the past year or so I've really started to enjoy it. My boss actually told me about this group she had heard about called Seckou Keita SKQ -- a group of 5 people all from different countries. Anyway, its really quite good! Kind of a jazzy/bluesy/funky sound to it, but very true to their own cultures. Anyway, if you guys are interested in this kind of music, i really suggest you check them out!

THANK YOU. That's some good playing. I love world music, one of the good things we get from globalization. Which I'm not totally in favor of, except for the art sharing part.

World music is becoming a genera as rigid as any other unfortunately.

I know Roulette is a Russian Indie band. I haven't really listened to their stuff, but it may hold components of their Russian culture.

I love "The Pillows" "Hyde" "L'arc En Cile" and "Utada Hikaru" all Japanese artists

I am sorry, I am not aware of these artists. I am into blues, rock-a-billy, classical baroque, Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard and I am sure that if I heard your favourites I would love them too.
I also love tear jerkers. You must find a copy of the sound track to "Somewhere in Time", starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.
You do that and you will know my soul.
