Kreskin, you need a couple of courses in post-secondary Canadian history. Read some stuff by Jack Granatstein. Old Canada deserves respect and it's your view it deserves none. You and I will never agree.
I'm putting on some Hank Snow. You don't know what your missing. You're dancing alone. Enjoy it.
Once you find common ground with Hank Snow all other matters pale in comparison. We're perfect for each other! My dad loved Hank Snow. Al Jolson. All the crew. Hey, look! A mirror! Kreskin, you have a partner!
Have a good one.Oh, lord. I'm slipping off to dreamland. I own a subdivision there. Goodnight, Kreskin!
I guess the Chinese didn't contribute anything, then. (Um, they aren't European, you know.)Your grandfather was from mainland Europe and he shared in common with other Europeans a respect for western traditions as we know them. A respect for western style government, religion and institutions. He was a perfect match. Canada was built on the work and sacrifice of Europeans. Why is that so difficult for you to accept, Kreskin? Now that multiculturalism is eroding the old attachments, don't expect Canada, as a beacon of western values to stay the strong example it's been. Canada has a culture and a heritage. Newcomers should be expected to respect that.
Granatstein? Hebrews came from the ME not Europe.Kreskin, you need a couple of courses in post-secondary Canadian history. Read some stuff by Jack Granatstein. Old Canada deserves respect and it's your view it deserves none. You and I will never agree.
.......... and drink Molson Canadian and learn to say "eh" a lot.You think Mohinder should be required to listen to Don Messer's Jubilee before coming to Canada?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahah, a stepdancing Hindu. Cool.I was thinking more tradtional, like Carling O'Keefe. Either way, if we get Mohinder gassed up he'll be doing jigs like the rest of us in no time.
Good post. I tried to give you a rep but it didn't work.I guess the Chinese didn't contribute anything, then. (Um, they aren't European, you know.)
I think it's pretty tough to erase heritage. It's be kinda like erasing history. As far as culture goes, it changes. Besides that I'd bet that MacDonald's culture was different from my ancestors culture, which was probably different than Laurier's culture, which was probably dfferent from UKrainian culture, which was probably different from Chinese culture, etc. There are societies like the Ukrainian Genealogical and Historical Society of Canada, The Quinte Irish Canadian Society, The Canada-Japan Society of British Colimbia, etc. that are dedicated to keeping the various cultures of their respective nationalities alive and well.
