Let's restore some order and decorum, please.

I would like to note that the late The Right Honourable Pierre Trudeau, P.C., C.C., C.H., Q.C., the Fifteenth Prime Minister of Canada, gave Canada the right to amend its own constitutional law—a prerogative which was new to the Constitution Act, 1982.

Mr. Trudeau also gave Canada our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which ensured that Canadians everywhere would be equal before the law—something which has been seen to evolve into something that everyone in Canada can be proud of (everyone who thinks that everyone is equal, anyway). There are some who don't think that some people should have rights, and therefore, they oppose the existence of the Charter. It's depressing, really.

If you believe EVERYONE is equal under our current charter of rights and freedoms, just talk to a dad who has been through a custody battle for his kids, just compare jail sentences given to males and females, I could go on. The laws in Canada have become so anti-male it is pathetic.

I am not part of your "some who don't think that some people should have rights" I believe 100% that everyone is equal and should have the same rights...The question is, why doesn't my government? Why do I have to be treated as a second class citizen so historically disadvantaged groups can get ahead? I had nothing to do with what went on over the past thousand years, yet I am still not given the same privileges because I am not part of a group that has "historically" been disadvantaged. That disadvantage is over, it is time to create a charter that is equal for ALL, not just beneficial to certain groups.

there are much more beautiful things to put on the bills. if it has to be people then maybe it should be people who havent been argued about in this forum. although i spose that means that allows Tom Cruise, since no-one argued that he's a short arse waste of space
