Gov. Gen. Michaëlle Jean has named a leading abortion rights crusader to the Order of Canada, news that has outraged anti-abortion groups.
Dr. Henry Morgentaler is one of 75 Canadians to receive honours for their contribution to the country. The Governor General announced the new inductees on Tuesday after the names were recommended by an advisory panel.
Anti-abortion Conservative MPs are stressing that appointments to the order are not made by cabinet. Nine people, including two government appointees, sit on the Order of Canada panel.

I consider this almost inevitable. Why not. One million people showed up for a celebration of human misery and depravity in Toronto last weekend in the Pride Day parade. Why should a society that celebrates freedom from all responsibility and structure in sexuality possibly value the fruits of that in children. Sex is for recreation not procreation, and children are the unwanted detritous of that. So why not honour and shed laurels on a man reponsible for the killing of 10's of thousands of these unwanted, inconvenient infants.

On the dark side of all this 'freedom' is a society that has become infused with the idolatry of death as a cult.. much as the Aztecs were in their blood cults before their civilization collapsed. It is a sign of a society that has lost its civilizing inspiration, is awash with disorder, confusion, desacration of life and due for a reckoning.

So why not honour Dr. Morgentaler, as the high priest of our new faith.. who will free us from all that went before.. into this brave new world.
