but I is bang on, not only to these islamic extremist but also rings true when I here Quebec talk about English Canada...like there are only French and English to talk about. If only the world were so black and white eh?

Of course it will bear truths from the perspective of most in the western world. It must if it is to be a successful piece of propaganda. Governments of all strips engage in telling their minions "how good they have it", "how lucky they are", and do so in ways the people lap up.

Perhaps you could provide something "extremist" to compare it to? Then I will say which of the two is more accurate.

I certainly don't want anyone to mix in terrorist with Quebecers!...at least NOT yet

But the Bloc/ PQ machine uses the same stereotypes as the extremist in regards to the rest of Canada.

First of all is that expression to start.."The rest of Canada" as if that is a homogenist society that all think act and look as one.

The second is the phrase " English Canada" it is used not as a language spoken but more as a society from Britain. It's not the first time I have gone to a web site from Quebec and the icon for the English page is a Union Jack were as the French page is the Quebec flag..It's a mind set. To keep up the struggle between the English and the French it has to be used.

The so called rest of Canada is NOT English...may be able to speak it but not likely English in race. Are Quebecer's who can speack English also English Canada? All of northern Ontario is French, half of New Brunswick, parts of Nova Scotia (the actually true Acadien French here way before Quebec existed), PEI and Newfoundland, as well as in Manotoba. Chinese make up the largest minority race in Toronto followed closely by Italians,Hell White English is NOT the majority of people in Toronto. The midwest is mainly Ukranian's and the west coast is full of Chinese again as well as east Indian....So good or bad..what is this English Canada? There are area's north of Toronto where you can't find English..all chinese. That wouldn't be allowed in Quebec, but we are comfortable enough with ourselves not to be freaked by it..We may not like it but it's not a really big deal.

Somehow Quebec is sure there is a better deal with the U.S. looking for stronger and better ties...i.e. a high speed rail from Quebec city to New York. The U.S. is the same makeup as "English" Canada, the same mixup of races and backgrounds with one exception...They demand ENGLISH ONLY..maybe if we did that Quebec would feel better???
