Leo Varadkar, Ireland's taoiseach, or prime minister, will join Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at Montreal's Pride parade during a three-day visit that gets underway Saturday.

The two leaders met in Ireland in July, shortly after Varadkar took office as the country's first openly gay prime minister.

Trudeau says he and Varadkar plan to discuss issues related to diversity and inclusion and how both countries can benefit from the Canada-Europe Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which goes into effect next month.

Trudeau's office says the Sunday event will mark the first time a foreign leader has joined the prime minister in a Canadian Pride parade.

The prime minister stresses the close ties between the two countries, saying over 4.5 million Canadians claimed Irish ancestry in 2011.

Apparently, it is. I haven't heard much from anyone, the gay community included, about this. The trouble is, every cause seems to get a day, a month or a year. They get buttons,parades or goofy hats to wear.

Unknown politicians often stand up during member's statements and ramble on about causes. Causes get telethons, buildings and areas named after them. Agencies scurry back and forth drumming up money for causes.

Next week will be Murphy Week.

Murphy Week is a time to celebrate and help all the Murphys of the world. Feed the starving Murphys by sending me money. I, as a Murphy myself, will get it to them. They are too weak to walk.

The sick Murphys need your help too. The diabetic, cancerous, Lou Gehrig's disease inflicted Murphys appreciate your support. You don't have to donate a lot. Just $10 will send an illiterate African Murphy to school. Give a Belfast Murphy a safe place to live and clean water to drink.

Every year, there are Murphys who get no schooling because they cannot afford recreational drugs or any alcohol for school trips. It's hard to live with the shame of watching your friends smoke some ganja while you go without.

Clean clothes, a sturdy pair of shoes and a package of cigarettes can change the life of a teenage Murphy. You can give them that life altering change and feel good about yourself.

Baby clothes, condoms and some blow can ease the daily life of an unwed, teenage Murphy mother.

You don't have to change the lives of a million Murphys. Just one is all we ask.

I thought June was Pride Month

Does anyone know of gathering in the east coast of Canada for the month of June 2015 ? My wife and I will be heading from the Toronto area to Newfoundland if I get my tear finished in time . 14
