Yup, and white sugar doesn't have the added goodies that demerara does and isn't natural, so what? My birds prefer honey in water, but they still go for the demerara avidly.

Kim next door uses honey too, she's got TONS of them around. She uses a simple dollar store feeder and Voila! Humminbirds gallour and I watch them on her side anf the woodpeckers on mine LOL

My next project is new bat-houses.

I love bats. At our house, the insects, for whatever reason, hover near the hot tub, so while you're soaking away in the hot tub, the bats are swooping around, scooping up moths and such. So neat. If we'd stayed we were planning on doing houses as a family project, just to entice more to the yard, but, alas, off to the city we go. LOL.

Oh wow Juan, those are some awesome looking feeders... I love the little window one, it's exactly what Hermann needs, IMO.

And Hermann, Lee Valley must have quit selling the cheap little bottle adapter I was going to suggest. I can't find the darn thing anywhere. It would have been ideal, since it's not a large investment. Ah well. You'll find something I'm sure.

Sorry I missed your post karrie. I've been running around all evening. Btw we have two old feeders that will adapt to a mason canning jar. When we lived on Gabriola Island we had literally dozens of hummingbirds come to eat/drink When we filled the feeders and were hanging them up again the greedy little sods would be trying to feed before we got them hung.

No worries with missing it juan.
I think hermann ended up going with the one I felt he should have gotten anyway. lol.
I've seen a few different 'adapter' style feeders, from ones that screw onto pop bottles, to rubber cork ones that fit into a variety of containers, looking especially nice with wine bottles.

Yeah, for little buggers they can be pretty aggressive. :D

I'd bet they'd work Herm, if you can secure them soundly. When the birds come you will notice they sound like giant bees as their little wings are literaly buzzing. Well ok humming but I've been startled when one has come up from behind:cool: .

I've rested them on the very edge of my balcony floor so it's like they were on the top of a wall or something. Not much else i can do except maybe tape them to the window...
