Then it may have revelance . Those who came back from dying on the operating table came back with discription that did reflect they're faith. Would love to see those seventy virgins tho lol

This is NOT getting my house cleaned boys LOL But my favorite subject.

In my belief system I believe we create our own reality. Kinda like What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams. My hell is now my heaven when Im free of this shell but my guides hhelp me see its all in the perspective. I am the creator of my reality.

El barto- Nobody ever came back from the dead on the operationg table. The mind is capable of producing that sort of illusion and is completely explainable by science. Sorry to have to be the one to tell you that.

Okay, you don't believe in this stuff, push on to something more to your tastes..It's rude to mock people's spiritual beliefs, in my opinion.

The one thing I dislike about Canadian Content is the surprising number of rude people who seem to be on this forum. Anytime a thread i read is going on in a particular faith forum, be it Christian discussion, Paganism, or this one, someone always feels the need to come in and trash the opinions of the believers. When I read these threads, I do so knowing I am a guest. I don't follow a particular faith of any kind, but I respect people who do. So, for example, if I read a Christian thread, I don't feel the need to knock the Catholic/Christian faith. When I read a pagan thread, same thing. It's just rude, and frankly stupid. If you open one of these threads you must know the majority of people posting on them are believers. It IS NOT necessary to rush in and rudely attack their beliefs. If you think it's false, don't read it. Sorry, but this sort of thing gets on my nerves.

I was reading this Sinfulness thread this morning in the Catholic section, or at least a Catholic thread, and it seemed that for every three posts by Catholics, there was three more by people attacking the Catholic religion.
Same here, we're all having anice discussion and along comes the hero to make fun of the people's experiences. I'm sorry, I'll stop now...

Oh PLEASE dont stop! you speak eloquantly and with truth!! WADO!!!!

Well as usual and par for your course, something is so far above and beyond your grasp, that you must resort to being rude and racist in nature.

This makes what? 4 times now, that you have nothing to fall back on, but insults and childish garbage?

Good to see we can expect nothing of any relavence from you in the near future.

Your ignorance is only surpast by your inablity to refute anything.

I admit to being guilty of that crime . but I stay away from posting anything in christian forum unless its an a attack on another faith. and when its pushed down my throat. I do come off as hot headed and for that i'll give you my appologies.

No!!! Don't stop, you were describing me. But here is the difference. I usually get carried away in those threads, generally because I see my faiths attacked, but I have reached a term of peace with sanctus and i will stick to it. For my attacks and ignorance, I must apologize. Although I felt my position and tactics were justified, I was still in the wrong.

You were and are quite right to say something, sir/ma'am(?) Thank you.

And what the hey selfactivated, it was probably as real to him as your green hair is to you!

I see my avatar as the inner Goddess I am. Thank you for noticing. Have you ever been close to death? Or in that space between awake and asleep? That magical spot in our deepest selves. We all have it, Some are man enough to admit it exists.

I think canadarocks is a 'she", and she's right. It is what I recently learned. If you open a thread up of a faith discussion, do so knowing there are people who deeply believe in that faith. Well we're busy scoring points, we can be causing pain to believers that is not necessary. Faith is a very personal thing for all of us, I think. Don't you agree? In other words, as aCatholic I found myself getting very defensive when people began coming into primarily Catholic threads to attack either the church, its clergy or its members. I imagine I did the same to pagans when I fell victim to the same rudeness., and canadarocks is correct, it is rudeness to do these things. And it really isn't necessary. There are enough conversations going on in these forums that can keep you occupied without seeing the need to rush into threads of what are, really, a personal matter and begin trashing the faith group in discussion. In fact, it takes away from whatever the original thread was about when you think about it, because what happens is the believers have to spend all their time defending their beliefs and getting side-tracked from whatever the OP was about. End of Mary's sermon.

Nice Sermon :) I love talking about my faith. It helps me become clearer in my beliefs. Vision quests are a great tool for the believer. For me it was a healing tool. It differenciated the difference between being ill and being spiritually healthy. When I wasnt medicated I heard and saw things that berated my soul. Now my visions elivate my spirit. I like being well in mind because it keeps me well in spirit.

El barto- You don't seem to understand, it didn't happen to your friend at all. Under the circumstances his brain convinced him that it happened. Science tells us this and your evidence for it happening is much less substantial. In fact you are taking the word of someone who only thinks he/she experienced what you relate. Don't be in such a hurry to accept fairy tales.

canadarocks- Some things get on your nerves and other things get on my nerves. Specifically, what gets on my nerves is the amound of damage religion and the belief in sky fairies is doing to our world. A good example would be the catholic missionaries in Africa who tell innocent people that the use of condoms is wrong as millions die with Aids and millions of children die of malnutrition because the catholic church forbids them to use birth control methods to prevent having a dozen children. Maybe what gets on my nerves is more of a legitimate complaint than what gets on your nerves on this forum. Think about it for a while before you attempt to have contrary opinions to your own censored.

Elbarto- Well there ya go, you attack other faiths while I attack those who believe in sky fairies period.

CdnBear- You should have thought of that when you chose to mock me when I mistakenly posted the line which appears in this place before a post. You didn't and now you are getting a little of your own medicine back. In addition to some of the other insults you have chosen to throw in my direction. Let me know when you think it's time to stop your childish nonsense! ;-)

I thought we came to an understanding. Apparently not. We've had enough of members trashing each other's faiths here, and most of the involved parties have found a way to resolve their differences by agreeing to stop attacking each other's beliefs. If you'd like to start a legitimate thread to discuss your own views on spirituality, please do so. Other than that, please leave these people to their discussion if you can't participate without inciting them.

marygaspe- This is not a religious thread so you shouldn't get all bent out of shape for that reason alone.

selfactivated- Yes, I have been close to death and I may even have had a near death experience. But since then I have not been carried away with religious imaginings about what happened to me. I hve found quite satisfactory explanations in science. If you have any interest in expanding your mind and learning something then perhaps I can help you out. As for Cdnbear, I have no doubt in the least that what he describes is a figment of his imagination, it was trance induced, or he was using psychedelic drugs. I know of no other explantions other than near death experiences which are fabricated in our brains.

I have many close friends who are native indians and spent a lot of time with our B.C. coastal indians while paddling with them in their war canoe races. To suggest that I am racist is simply ridiculous and is nothing more than the continuation of the fight he decided to pick with me. Would you like to hear about some supernatural experiences I have witnessed with our native indians? All very easily explanable from a point of view of science. If not pure hoaxs to begin with!
