How do the Project Fear prophets explain the good news about Britain’s economy?

....used to ruled by the English. That's why do many Irishmen are in their graves.

Those Irishmen are now spinning in their graves that the country they fought for to be independent is now no longer independent again.

They'll be spinning in their graves that the so-called nationalist Sinn Fein party, which used to be against Ireland's membership of the EU because they wanted Ireland to be free and independent and sovereign, now supports Ireland's membership of the EU and it being run by foreigners.

Yeah but they're foreigners not trying to kill them, starve them, ethnically cleanse Ireland. The Irish are moving up in the World.

They're foreigners who care not one jot about Irish democracy who make the Irish vote again when they vote the "wrong" way in EU referenda.

The Irish are moving up in the World.

Not when they are in the EU, they aren't, and having most of their laws made by unelected foreigners.

In 2010 the Republic of Ireland was in such economic turmoil that the UK lent it £3.25 billion, which it isn't due to fully pay back until 26th March 2021.

... and that differs how from 300 years of oppressive British occupation?

Actually, Brexit has the potential of re-uniting Ireland ... as crazy an idea as it sounds. Ulster isn't too keen on being tied to a failing Britain when all they get for it in return are the old physical and psychological barriers with Eire going back up.

So it wants to tie itself to a failing EU instead?

Britain isn't failing, it's booming, and will prosper even more outside the EU.

It's the EU which is failing.

when all they get for it in return are the old physical and psychological barriers with Eire going back up.
That's one of the many Remainer scaremongering myths which completely ignores the fact that since the British don't want such barriers and the Irish don't want such barriers then who is going to put up such barriers?

Sure you will. The British are on a run of "stupid". I'll bet that you think you'll reconstitute the old British Empire in some new Commonwealth deal with you naturally at the top?

We're actually on a run of sensible, sane, common sense decisions: keeping the pound; leaving the EU...

Oh yeah. That's why 17.4 million people voted leave, of course. The average factory worker in Sunderland and Liverpool thought: "I'll vote to leave the EU in the referendum because I want to re-establish the British Empire. "

No, but I've seem British bloggers on British forums saying that trade with the Commonwealth was going to make up some of your trading losses with the Continent.

Well, I have news for you. The bigger Commonwealth members all compete directly against each other in the same markets. By the way, none of them will put up with any sort of "British leadership" anymore and the Brits are not yet smart enough to realize that it can only be an equal partnership between Britain, India, Canada and Australia, at best.

The other odd thing that they say is that "special relationship" that you have with the U.S. is gong to save you, too. Again, Britain and the US are direct competitors for everything and the U.S. is selling, not buying. They'll eat you for dinner before they give you anything preferential.

You'd best fire Patricia Scotland, then, the British boss of the Commonwealth.

Unlike the EU, of course, where the partnerships between the Member States very much aren't equal.

Britain has a trade surplus with the United States: Britain exports to the US more than it imports from it.
