How about the BEST movies you've ever seen!

The Pianist- Best movie about the Nazi evil I've ever seen.

That was a good one, I forgot all about it. Very haunting.

believe it or not-- i havent got around to this one yet

i generally dont like films about the holocaust---too depressing
however
the one i remember that sticks with me is---an old one--
with rod steiger-- i think it was called the broker--
or maybe the pawn broker---its not strictly about the holocaust but about someone who-- survived it and lives in new york city-- trying to cope with the aftermath

regarding nazis--- 2 of the most powerfull films -- regarding --modern nazis--- ie skinheads that are definatedly worth seeing are

The Pianist is very good, but still kind of depressing just the same.


I really liked Dog Town and Z-boys, the documentary.

I'll add:

Bliss (Australian)-Ad exec has heart attack believes he died and thinks he may have gone to Hell and that his family members are demons. Very clever black comedy/social commentary.

Man Facing Southeast- Great Agrentinian flick that was stolen, dumbed-down, screwed up and vomited out as K-Pax.

Withnail and I- Hilarious Brit-com, reminds me of a short but intense period of my mis-spent youth/young adulthood. Great Soundtrack.

Spinal Tap- "This one goes to 11."

Evil Dead 2- My favourite b-movie comedy. Bruce campbell rocks!

Memento- The gimmick worked for me. Very cool.

Life of Brian- 'nuff said. :wink:

I've seen all of these and thought they were great, especially Bliss. I didn't like Withnail and I though. The British make such dreary movies.

spinal tap--- i saw that like--15 years ago
and still crack up-- when i remember scenes from that flick

--- i play guitar-- as a hobby-- and occasionally ---
when i go shopping at some of the music stores around here-- ill quite seriously ask the store clerk if he has any marshall guitar amps that you can crank up to 11
or even higher--cause the ones that only go up to 10 --arent loud enough

Someone did torch the peir at the end of Lords of Dogtown. So I assumed it was the same thing. But I wasn't follwing with the propaganda. I've heard Jay Adams was more important than Tony Alba and I've heard the reverse, I was confused....I'm not a ska8er girl. :lol: :lol:

Z-boys and Dogtown, the documentary is kind of interesting, becuse they us a lot of original footage they made of themselves skating 20 yrs ago and a lot from competitions.

I absolutely adored Memoirs of a Geisha. I thought it was beautiful.

8. Saving Private Ryan

I thought the best one out of the bunch above is #2.
