RE: How 2 get webcam to w

Thanks for the reply. See I try with users with and without routers and same with firewalls. Nothing I try can connect.

It would be nice to go through it but I wouldn't want to bother you anymore then I am now.

Any other suggestions? Could something else be blocking it?

do you have windows XP firewall on by any chance. if so, disable it. If not, we have to go through it from here. It is no bother at all. Send your MSN email and we can connect. this way I can have a extra good friend. LOL

No XP firewall on. I turn that off ASAP because it's a load of junk :p.

Alright, since it's no bother I'll send you my email, thank-you.

Hi there, ur answer provided hope that I will get audio back however I think I am having trouble with the Static IP addy. do I configure this in Windows (if so how) or use the Linksys site I used to change my routers (Linksky BEFW11S4 UK) settings. If so could u provide a handy screen shot of what it should look like.

Thank You

Moose,

Your router should be abled to provide dynamic IP's (dhcp) to other computers on your network. The only computer that should have a static IP is the one that is going to be used for the Webcam/voice.

In XP, go to network conections, highlight the local area connection that you use for the internet, go to properties, double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and change as the screen shot below:

I have been looking everwhere for directions on this. Please would you advise on two additional issues:
I have a dell 2350 router (I think linksys).
Is it essential to have a static IP or does this solution still work with dynamic?
When I try to enter the forwrading port info you provide there are mandatory fields for incoming ports and destination port. Should I enter the same port numbers in both fields?

I appreciate you
