The player turns his back to the player that hit him. There should be no penalty on the play. Players need to be responsible for their own safety as well.

An unfortunate incident for all involved..especially for the kid in the hospital as well as the kid that will now be crucified.

Also, his helmet came off because it wasn't done up tightly. When are the hockey leagues going to do something about that?

The player that got hit turned toward the puck... The penalty should be boarding or charging.

You maybe could argue that he hit him in the head. I'm not sure of the rules in the OHL. It's definitely not a charge or a boarding penalty. It looks alot worse than it was because the player turn and his helmet wasn't on securely.

And his head happened to hit the post between panes of glass from what I could see.
