i dunno if i'd agree with that, but then again i am a christian and i have a strong faith with christ.

and like u mentioned above that u don't then i guess thats ur own opinion. But i wouldn't agree with u on this one.

Altho the internet is a great source for increasing ur own knowledge about christ and god and the good word :)

Not as good a source as prayer, The Sacraments, and the Scriptures.:)

well it is gods will for us to save sex for marriage. So thats why we get married, and both have to decide to walk together, for it says in the bible that once u marry, you become one flesh, and i believe thats when u give eachother ur virginity by sleeping together.

One could also interpret 'one flesh' to mean that you wait until marriage to breed. Because really, giving up your virginity to someone isn't 'becoming one flesh', it's merely rubbing your flesh vigorously against theirs. It USED to be that sex led to 'one flesh' since most sexual encounters would have resulted in a baby in times before birth control methods, but now, sex can be just sex.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating premarital sex, merely pointing out that there are different ways of interpreting things.

i totally agree...there are many wayz to look at it. i still look at giving away your virginity more then just "rubbing ur flesh vigorously against theirs". It has a very special meaning when a couple first sleep together and lose or should i say give away their virginity to one another. I don't think having birth control and other ways of preventing getting pregnant really changes that one moment which in my words " you become one flesh".

But like you said, there are many ways of interpreting things, and thats just how i personally look at it :).

Amos 3:3
"Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?"
I should tell you up front that I'm an atheist and a skeptic, but the answer to that question seems perfectly obvious to me. The answer is no. I've been married to the same woman for almost 30 years, and I'm one of the happiest people I know. The only reason it's worked so well for so long, as far as I can tell, is because we agreed to make it work, and we talked about that a lot before making the commitment to each other and standing up in front of a judge and swearing it and signing the contract. And we continue to talk about it. Frankly I don't see any necessary role for god in it at all. It's between me and my dear wife, god can take it or leave it and I really don't care what he thinks, because it has nothing to do with him and I know of no reason to think he's out there anyway.

But there is much wisdom in the Bible, quite apart from its overtly religious content. Whoever wrote that stuff knew a lot about human nature, and it well behooves us to think seriously about the questions it asks.

I seriously hope you think again about why one gets married. It isn't to have sex. That is one of the benefits:), but not the intention, of marriage.

Becoming one flesh, Biblically speaking, refers to the marriage itself. In other words, to two separate people becoming one unit, one entity, one couple.
What was two is now one, one being if you will. Two hearts beating in harmony together. that is the intention of "one flesh".

i didn't mean it in that context, i should explain myself abit better. You are right, it is one of the benefits, but God gave us "sex" for more then just pleasurable feelings, there is alot of logic and meaning behind it. And i'm not saying getting married is all about the "sex". Not at all, i agree with what you said above, getting married in walking as one in harmony, you nailed that above very well. Thats exactly how i think of it too...i'm sorry if i misjudged you with what i said above, but its not that marriage is all about the sex.

What logic and meaning do you see beyond the two obvious ones, pleasure and procreation?
