HazMat team called over skunks
OTTAWA - Instead of meeting him at the Casbah, it seems Pepe le Pew's would-be paramour decided to meet him at an Ottawa optometrist's office. Apparently, they made not-so-beautiful music together.
People near the intersection of Besserer and Cumberland called 911 after smelling a strong stench Wednesday morning outside a three-storey commercial and residential building.
Firefighters arrived and were met with a very strong odour of -- skunk. They were told there was also a putrid stink inside the building.
Eleven people were evacuated and assessed by paramedics and members of the fire department's Hazardous Materials Unit took readings — which came back negative.
