The Iranian administration must know that if they so much as threatened to "push the button" (so to speak) Tehran would be rubble within hours...

Then again, I'm beginning to think that Ahmadinejad doesn't care. Fervency in belief seems to be replacing all logic here.

The big threat to the US is not a US city being vaporized but a landing force on Iranian soil. They are many years from being able to launch missles from Iran to hit us cities. But they are real close to getting a bomb that could just be set off near an approaching armored column.

Heck they won't even have to drop it from a plane. They could set it off in place.

Iran, a sponsor of many terrorist organizations around the world would probably give the terrorists the bomb. They would smuggle it into NY harbour and Chicago. After the blasts the usual Saddamites would claim Bush did it. Iran would deny involvement hoping to escape retribution.
They probably would fire a nuke tipped missile at Israel. Israel being a small one bomb target. That is the nutters perceived religious duty.
